Directional Analytic Discrete Cosine Frames

چکیده

Block frames called directional analytic discrete cosine frames (DADCFs) are proposed for sparse image representation. In contrast to conventional overlapped frames, the DADCFs require a reduced amount of 1) computational complexity, 2) memory usage, and 3) global access. These characteristics strongly required current high-resolution processing. Specifically, we propose two based on transform (DCT) sine (DST). The first DADCF is constructed from parallel separable transforms DCT DST, where DST permuted by row. second also designed while customized have no DC leakage property which desirable Both rich directional selectivity with slightly different each other they can be implemented as non-overlapping block-based transforms, especially form Parseval block low redundancy. We perform experiments evaluate our compare them in recovery.

Directional Frames for Image Recovery: Multi-scale Discrete Gabor Frames

Sparsity-driven image recovery methods assume that images of interest can be sparsely approximated under some suitable system. As discontinuities of 2D images often show geometrical regularities along image edges with different orientations, an effective sparsifying system should have high orientation selectivity. There have been enduring efforts on constructing discrete frames and tight frames...

Multiple Description Coding Using Directional Discrete Cosine Transform

Delivery of high quality video over a wide area network with large number of users poses great challenges for the video communication system. To ensure video quality, multiple descriptions have recently attracted various attention as a way of encoding and visual information delivery over wireless network. We propose a new efficient multiple description coding (MDC) technique. Quincunx lattice s...

JPEG Encoder using Discrete Cosine Transform & Inverse Discrete Cosine Transform

In the past decade, the advancement in data communications was significant during explosive growth of the Internet, which led to the demand for using multimedia in portable devices. Video and Audio data streams require a huge amount of bandwidth to be transferred in an uncompressed form. The objective of this paper is to minimize the number of bits required to represent an image and also the ac...

On discrete cosine transform

The discrete cosine transform (DCT), introduced by Ahmed, Natarajan and Rao, has been used in many applications of digital signal processing, data compression and information hiding. There are four types of the discrete cosine transform. In simulating the discrete cosine transform, we propose a generalized discrete cosine transform with three parameters, and prove its orthogonality for some new...

Discrete cosine transform

The discrete cosine transform (DCT) is a Fourier-related transform similar to the discrete Fourier transform (DFT), but using only real numbers. It is equivalent to a DFT of roughly twice the length, operating on real data with even symmetry (since the Fourier transform of a real and even function is real and even), where in some variants the input and/or output data are shifted by half a sampl...
